Alma facilitated the three-month NYC residency of Júlia Vécsei, recipient of awards from Futura Prague and Triangle Arts Association, Brooklyn. Júlia Vécsei’s practice is positioned between the registers of the sensual and the conceptual, working within techniques of drawing and aquarelle. Her project “Colorization” is an investigation of public housing projects, documenting their rehabilitation and replacement in former Soviet-block countries as well as American cities such as New York—comparing these processes between the east and west. Júlia is based in Budapest, Hungary.
